How you will make an impact!

This role is responsible for the development and delivery of Electron Microscopy training for internal and external customers. You will work with the technical training department. We will deliver technical training to a broad audience. We encourage and empower learners with highly technical content. Make our learners able to identify, repair and improve the Electron Microscopes use at Thermo Fisher. Our learners will consist of Field Service Engineers, R&D specialist, Operation Engineers and users. All of these will have different knowledge levels, from newbies to senior specialists.

As a team we are involved in the development of the newest technologies towards a specialize set of jobs skills that needs to be translated into a learning opportunity for the whole company. This is done via classroom training, remote instruction, hands-on practice or assist in developing e-learning material. Using a skills-passport for individual skills learning.

With the Technical Training department, we will develop close relations with colleagues from the Global Tech Support, Customer Service, R&D/PG, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management and Customer training. Coordinate and handle ad hoc learning solutions, either in our own training lab or on-site at customer sites.

What you will do:

  • Delivery of skills-based classroom training, interactive hands-on training delivery
  • Manage the learning curves of the trainees, either by individual interactions or by classroom activities
  • Using different didactic skills to transfer the knowledge towards the trainees. This can be done via teacher-center or facilitating the accurate learning environment to let the trainee gain the skills.
  • Translate high technical information into clear and understandable information.
  • Transform the teacher-centered classroom training into e-learning,
  • Mentor the trainee using the accurate skills, with hands-on exercises on life tools
  • Provide work instruction for aid during field work and training exercises.
  • Use skills-based training to get trainees faster up to speed.

How will you get here?

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree  (Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or other relevant field) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with limited experience; or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • 2+ years as a Facilitator and organizer of on-the-spot training; or field service engineering experience
  • you are able to build out-of-the-box solutions to be able to deliver training.
  • Have a hands-on mentality; love high end technical sophisticated tools and problems.
  • Proficient in English (verbal and writing), other language skills are an asset.
  • People-skills, know how to bring colleagues, learners and engineers to work together in a multifaceted environment
  • Understand how people learn and capable of imagining yourself as the learner.
  • Self-starter, who is also highly productive when not supervised.
  • Highly communicative and ability to explain difficult material.
  • Able to present in front of a larger audience.
  • Energize, empower, encourage, convince and motivates learners

  • Incidental travel towards customers sites to deliver “a-la-carte”-training requests.
