The roleโ€ฆ

The Components Flex Operator I supports our Board Machine departments and Fabrication Departments ย operating and maintaining a variety of manufacturing equipment across the Milling, Cylinders, and Cylinder Windings areas. This hands-on role involves safely using hand tools, saws, scarfers, rolling equipment, and other production machinery to manufacture high-quality products. Operators are responsible for setting up equipment, monitoring production, performing basic maintenance, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards while supporting efficient manufacturing operations.

How youโ€™ll make an impactโ€ฆ

Production Flexibility & Cross-Training

  • Cross-train and work across multiple manufacturing departments, including Milling, Cylinders, Cylinder Windings, Wet End, Dry End, Stock Prep, Cutting Center, Lam Line, Small Calender, and Nomexยฎ production areas.
  • Adapt quickly to changing production priorities and support multiple operations as business needs require.
  • Maintain flexibility to move between departments while consistently meeting production schedules and quality standards.
  • Work a designated shift based on departmental operational needs.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Perform routine operator preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, inspections, and minor mechanical adjustments to maintain equipment reliability.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and promptly communicate recurring mechanical concerns to maintenance or supervisors.

Quality & Process Ownership

  • Take ownership of producing quality products by ensuring only conforming materials move to the next stage of production.
  • Understand and perform assigned responsibilities in accordance with customer specifications, company procedures, and business requirements.
  • Identify and promptly report product defects, process issues, documentation errors, equipment concerns, or material discrepancies.
  • Exercise the authority to stop or adjust a production process when quality, safety, or production standards are not being met.
  • Support corrective actions, preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Teamwork & Accountability

  • Adapt to last-minute production changes while maintaining accountability for quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and resolve operational challenges.
  • Perform additional duties and support other departments as assigned.

What do you bringโ€ฆ

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Diploma required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, fabrication, machine operation, industrial production, or a skilled trade is preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to include accurate measuring skills ( tape measure, micrometers and calipers) ย and the ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position in accordance with the Essential Function Job Analysis.
  • One Year of previous manufacturing experience
