Flex Flagger information

What jobs will be gone in the next 5 years?

For a flex flagger, jobs are unlikely to disappear entirely in the next five years, but automation and technological advancements in traffic management and construction safety may reduce demand for manual flagging roles. Some routine or manual jobs in construction and transportation could be affected as companies adopt new tools and systems. Flex flaggers should stay updated on industry changes and develop skills in safety protocols and equipment operation to remain competitive.

How to get hired as a flagger?

To get hired as a flagger, candidates typically need a valid traffic control or flagger certification, which can be obtained through a state-approved training course. Employers often look for good communication skills, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and a clean driving record. Prior experience in construction or traffic management can also be beneficial.

What is the highest paid flagger?

The highest paid flaggers are typically those with extensive experience, specialized certifications, or who work in high-demand regions or construction projects. Salaries can vary widely but generally range from $20 to $30 per hour, with some specialized or supervisory roles earning higher wages. Factors such as location, union membership, and overtime can also influence pay rates for flaggers.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

A flex flagger can potentially earn around $4,000 a week by working full-time hours, especially in high-demand construction or infrastructure projects that pay premium wages. These roles typically require safety training, certification, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Earnings depend on location, experience, and overtime opportunities.

Job description

About the Role
As a Field Operator, you will serve as Traba's in-market operational hands - focused on recruiting, onboarding, and preparing workers for placement across the market. Rather than being anchored to a single customer, you'll support the broader market and may interact with multiple customer sites as volume and coverage needs dictate.
You'll be the local face of Traba to our workforce: building community partnerships, running onboarding sessions, and making sure every worker is vetted, prepared, and ready to succeed on their first shift. This role requires professionalism, bilingual communication, strong recruiting instincts, and the flexibility to flex across worker funnel needs in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Worker Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with workers across the market - owning the experience from recruiting through placement and providing timely updates, feedback, and support.
  • Community & Partner Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with workforce centers, community organizations, and local partners to drive worker pipeline and brand presence in the market.
  • Worker Vetting & Onboarding: Oversee worker vetting, drug testing, and onboarding end-to-end, including running large group onboarding sessions when volume calls for it.
  • Worker Funnel Management: Manage the full worker funnel - sourcing, screening, scheduling, and converting applicants into placement-ready workers.
  • New Start Scheduling: Coordinate interviews and start schedules for new hires across customer sites, ensuring workers are matched to the right opportunities at the right time.
  • PPE & On-Site Support: Distribute and manage PPE, and provide on-site presence at customer facilities as needed to support new starts, escalations, or peak coverage.
  • Communication & Reporting: Maintain consistent, proactive feedback loops with Traba HQ - flagging market trends, funnel issues, or coverage risks early.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) required.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in operations or customer-facing environments, including but not limited to: staffing, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, food service, teaching, or on-site coordination.
  • Strong recruiting instincts and the ability to source, screen, and convert candidates.
  • Comfortable running large group onboarding sessions and presenting in front of workers.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (email and in-person).
  • Professional demeanor and ability to represent Traba with workers, partners, and client stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable - able to shift priorities and locations as market needs evolve.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a proactive problem solver.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic warehouse and field environments.

Compensation
Competitive hourly base pay plus performance-based incentives tied to worker onboarding and successful placements.
