Join us in our mission to deliver life-changing care to more people in more places.

Role and Description

This is a full-time role for a Marketing Associate, our first dedicated marketing hire. You will work directly with our founders to build our marketing function from scratch: owning our brand voice, social presence, website, and marketing materials, and coordinating with outside agencies on paid campaigns. You’ll also have a chance to flex your creative muscles and create video and visual content with our patients and doctors. This is a foundational role at a company where marketing is still being defined, and it's a great fit for someone early in their career who wants real ownership fast.

You'll have the chance to shape how a fast-growing, venture-backed healthcare company shows up to patients and partners, and see your work reach real people quickly.

What Success Looks Like

A year from now, Tono should have a recognizable, trustworthy brand voice that shows up consistently across social, our website, and every piece of marketing copy we put out. Our social media accounts should be filled with engaging video and photo content involving our doctors and patients. Our landing pages should be converting well, our social channels should have real engagement, and our partner campaigns should be running smoothly with the agencies we work with. That's the outcome this hire is accountable for: a marketing function that didn't exist before, now running well enough that it can scale as the team grows.

Who are you?

We’re looking for someone who is excited to take ownership of our brand voice, and isn’t afraid to jump into the unknown and get their hands dirty.

  • You help define and maintain our brand foundations, visual identity, tone of voice, and messaging guidelines, as we grow
  • You own social media end-to-end: strategy, content calendar, posting, and engagement across our channels
  • You’re excited to work with our doctors to create video and other visual content
  • You manage and optimize our website: updating copy, improving conversion on key landing pages, and keeping content fresh and on-brand
  • You write strong marketing copy across channels: landing pages, email, sales collateral, and partner-facing materials
  • You coordinate with external agencies on paid campaigns, briefing them clearly, reviewing creative, and tracking performance

Personal Characteristics

  • Relentless Drive for Excellence: Holds themselves and others to the highest standards, continually seeking improvement and delivering exceptional results.
  • Desire to Work with the Best: Motivated by collaborating with top-tier talent in a high-performance, mission-driven environment.
  • Startup Mindset: Positive, curious, adaptable, and driven to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bias to Action: Comfortable with ambiguity and urgency, with a natural inclination to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
  • Integrity and Trust: A trusted confidant to the founders, able to handle sensitive information and make decisions aligned with Tono's values.

What We're Looking For

Rather than a checklist of years, here's what the work actually requires:

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, social media, content, or a related field (internships count)
  • Comfortable filming videos, appearing in social content, and minor video editing.
  • Proficiency with Claude, ChatGPT, or other AI tooling. You should be able to utilize these tools to accelerate your work.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across channels and audiences
  • Comfort with (or eagerness to learn) website CMS tools, basic analytics (GA4, etc.), and social scheduling tools
  • Highly organized and self-directed; you'll be figuring out a lot of this as you go
  • Genuine interest in healthcare, health tech, or building a brand from the ground up
  • Nice to have: experience working with or managing external agencies, basic design sense (Canva/Figma), or familiarity with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, HubSpot, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Target salary: $55,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience
  • Medical benefits
  • Priority access for your family to leading dermatologist and regular cosmetic nights at our flagship clinic
  • Growth opportunities in a fast-scaling, mission-driven organization

Location

Our office is located in Dumbo, Brooklyn. This is an in-person role.
