Job description

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Fabrication Technician II (2nd Shift) at our Hodges, SC facility.
The rate for this position is $20.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The hours are Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
The Fabrication Technician II prepares aluminum and copper busbars for assembly by operating manual presses, hand grinders, and taping equipment prior to the Epoxy process. This role may also assist with gathering materials for various work centers.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines.Maintain 5S+ standards within the work area.
  • Receive job assignments from the supervisor or through the production control system.
  • Enter required information into the data collection system accurately and promptly.Interpret manufacturing documents, including sketches, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Set up and operate heavy machinery, such as Weidamatics, Optishear, band saws, coil machines, and drill presses.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including oiling, manual clamp adjustments, and clamp/finger replacements.
  • Frequently push or pull loads up to 100 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs without accomodation; use material handling equipment to move and position heavy materials safely.
  • Maintain familiarity with all materials used in job tasks and follow Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) instructions.
  • Use calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to verify components meet engineering specifications to ±0.001 in.
  • Conduct statistical process control (SPC) monitoring on machinery as required.
  • Flex across various fabrication areas, which may include Geka shear, coil machine, housing saw, accessory bending, press brake, downdraft, masking, and housing punch.

Qualifications:
Basic:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • No relocation is provided for this position. Applicants must reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 3 months of industrial manufacturing experience
  • 3 months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift)
  • 3 months of experience using hand and pneumatic (air) tools
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus
