JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Student Grant and Community Engagement Coordinator.  This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in grant administration, research, and coordination within the manufacturing industry.  You will work closely with our grants team to support our efforts in securing funding from various sources and perform various tasks related to researching, applying for, and marketing grants for the dealer audience. This person will also assist with the administration of the Blue Bird School Bus Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the business.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications, which may include writing or editing grant proposals, gathering required documentation, and ensuring that application and reporting deadlines are met
  • Maintain a well-organized database of grant opportunities, application deadlines, and status updates. Keep records of all communication and documentation related to grant applications.
  • Communicate with partners as needed to gather information, answer questions, and provide updates on grant applications and close outs.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant-related reports, including progress reports, and financial reports.
  • Monitor the status of grant applications and keep the team informed of any developments or requirements
  • Provide administrative support to the grant and community engagement team, which may include scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, and assisting in organizing grant-related events or workshops and Blue Bird School Bus Foundation meetings.
  • Collaborate with Sales/Marketing team to leverage use of CRM to communicate funding opportunities to a wide audience

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Marketing, English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Part-time, 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate academic commitments 
  •  Availability during business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed
