Transportation Department Supervisor

Under the direction of the Director of Transportation, oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department in the areas of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair; assure timely repairs to District vehicles and equipment; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Education: High School Diploma or the equivalent. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in automotive, truck and bus maintenance and repair, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience. 2. Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Preventive maintenance practices and procedures; applicable codes, laws, and regulations related to assigned activities; principles and practices of supervision and training; oral and written communication skills; record-keeping techniques; operation of a computer and applicable software; inventory methods and practices; proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department the areas of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair; train, supervise and evaluate assigned personnel; maintain adequate stock levels; maintain records and prepare reports; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. The Coachella Valley is a valley in Southern California which extends for approximately 45 mi in Riverside County southeast from the San Bernardino Mountains to the northern shore of the Salton Sea.
