Overview

The Fleet Planning Manager, reporting to the Fleet Planning Director, is responsible for adding commercial considerations to the Fleet Optimization process, ensuring balance between commercial objectives, operational sustainability and customer experience.
The position acts as a strategic decision-maker for fleet allocation, working cross-functionally with, Pricing, Sales, Operations, Crew Planning, Flight Approval, and Maintenance teams to ensure the fleet is utilised efficiently and in line with company strategy.
Responsibilities
Flight Scheduling & Fleet Optimization
  • Partner with Flight Approval and Crew Planning teams, under the direction of Fleet Planning Management, to optimize the Vista Fleet schedule.
  • Ensure optimal aircraft allocation by balancing efficiency, revenue maximization, operational sustainability, and premium client experience.
  • Minimize ferry flights to enhance efficiency
  • Maintain operational sustainability by enabling adequate crew rest, facilitating maintenance requirements, and coordinating crew transitions
  • Maximize revenue through strategic flight stacking and aircraft availability optimization
  • Elevate client experience by prioritizing assignment of aircraft in optimal condition to VVIP passengers

Commercial & Revenue Management
  • Evaluate and approve or reject Non-Guaranteed Service (NGS) requests in alignment with commercial strategy and operational feasibility.
  • Safeguard company profitability by ensuring flights remain above Minimum Diluted Yield (MDY) thresholds through proactive schedule optimization.
  • Escalate exceptions in accordance with guidelines established by the Vista Executive Committee.

Performance Monitoring & Strategic Escalation
  • Continuously analyze global scheduling patterns to identify trends, opportunities, and regional capacity requirements.
  • Proactively escalate insights, risks, and improvement opportunities to Senior Fleet Planning Managers and Fleet Planning Director.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Suggest operational solutions, aimed at increasing aircraft deliveries, improving asset utilization, and strengthening overall scheduling efficiency.

Recovery Planning & Availability Management
  • Maintain strategic fleet flexibility to support last-minute operational recoveries by:
  • Identifying and escalating periods of constrained availability
  • Recommending strategic off-fleeting of flights when appropriate
  • Protecting aircraft allocated for recovery purposes from advance operational commitments
