Fleet Mechanic / Fabricator

Quad Optical Services (QOS Fiber) โ€“ Pulaski, Wisconsin

$28-$38 per Hour | $2,000 Sign-On Bonus

Join the team to help build and maintain the fiber optic infrastructure that keeps America connected. Quad Optical Services (QOS Fiber) is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic / Fabricator to support our growing underground utility construction operations throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the trucks, trailers, directional drills, excavators, backhoes, skid steers, vacuum excavation equipment, and specialized construction machinery that our crews rely on every day.

The ideal candidate is an experienced mechanic who takes pride in diagnosing problems, performing quality repairs, and fabricating solutions that improve equipment reliability and performance. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, vehicle wiring, lighting systems, and mechanical components while performing preventative maintenance and major repairs on both heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. This role also requires welding and fabrication skills to repair damaged equipment, modify existing machinery, and create custom solutions that support field operations.

Candidates with experience working on directional drilling equipment, Vermeer, Ditch Witch, Toro, or similar utility construction equipment are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with hydraulic diagnostics, diesel engine repair, trailer maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, MIG welding, TIG welding, stick welding, metal fabrication, and fleet maintenance management will be highly valued. Utility construction, underground telecommunications, fiber optic construction, or heavy civil construction experience is preferred but not required.
