Job description

This position is pending contract award.  The estimated start date in October 1, 2026.

Description:  

As the Maintenance Control Manager, you serve as the centralized airworthiness authority for Flight School Next, overseeing realtime maintenance control, continuing airworthiness, and operational readiness across all aircraft, ground support equipment (GSE), fuelhandling equipment, and aviationrelated assets. You manage contracted Part 145 activity, fleet configuration, digital maintenance workflows, and technical record integrity through the maintenance tracking systems. The role approves highlevel deferrals, coordinates aircraft routing and inventory planning, maintains companyapproved maintenance programs, and ensures clear, consistent communication across operational departments. You also drive compliance, internal audits, contingency planning, and process improvements to maximize fleet availability while ensuring full adherence to FARs, company policy, and AAR safety standards.

What you will be responsible for:  

  • Understand, facilitate and implement maintenance standards and objectives with all assets in order to achieve desired results, and meet all metrics and standards for FSN. 
  • Establish maintenance policies and procedures to ensure safe operation of the aircraft in order to meet fully mission capable rates and launch requirements in support FSN. 
  • Establish and monitor the scheduling process to ensure the timely maintenance of all equipment; establish and implement quality control procedures; and enforce all company directives, SOP's and procedures. 
  • Develops procedures to ensure the timely recording of all maintenance actions. 
  • Functionally responsible to the Director of Maintenance for aircraft maintenance related issues, policies, and procedures 
  • Support in executing maintenance hiring actions and training plans. 
  • Coordinate site activities with all assigned departments to insure smooth operations and aircraft maintenance 
  • Determine standardized procedures and work schedules to improve the efficiency of subordinates. 
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

What you will need to be successful in this role:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Aircraft Maintenance or related field or equivalent experience 
  • Ten (10) years minimum aircraft maintenance experience. 
  • Current FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License. 
  • CMF 15 aviation MOS series or other military/commercial equivalent. 
  • In-depth working knowledge of military, commercial, and FAA technical publications. 
  • An FAA Inspector Authorization (IA) license is preferred. 
  • In order to access the Fort Rucker site, US citizenship is required.
