ABOUT THE POSITION

The Town of Truckee is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our next Fleet, Facilities & Trails Manager. This division includes fleet maintenance on both fossil fueled and electric powered fleet and maintenance equipment, facilities management, trails, landscaping, preventive maintenance programs, asset management, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration. Success in this role requires strong leadership, proactive thinking, strategic planning and execution, collaboration across departments, and the ability to build positive relationships with employees, contractors, local and regional partner agencies, special districts, and the community at large. Experience managing operations affected by significant winter weather (we have an average annual snowfall of more than 200 inches) is highly desirable.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general direction, plans, organizes, oversees, coordinates, and manages the staff and operations of the Fleet, Facilities, and Trails Division, including construction, maintenance, and repair work of Town buildings, facilities, landscaped areas, trails, physical assets, and Community Facilities Districts (CFDs) and mechanical repair, preventive maintenance work, and overhaul to heavy and light equipment; manages the effective use of division resources to improve organizational productivity and customer service; provides complex and responsible support to the Public Work Director/Town Engineer in areas of expertise; and performs related duties as assigned.
