Position Summary

The Maintenance Person is responsible for supporting the maintenance, servicing, and organization of the company’s fleet vehicles, equipment, and fleet yard. This role performs preventative maintenance services, assists mechanics with repairs and parts management, and helps ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant, and operational. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, experience servicing commercial vehicles, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.


Responsibilities

· Perform routine preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.

· Conduct oil changes and fluid services on DOT vehicles, including Class III through Class VIII vehicles.

· Assist mechanics with maintenance and repair activities as needed.

· Pick up and deliver parts, supplies, and equipment to support fleet operations.

· Inspect vehicles and equipment for maintenance needs and report issues promptly.

· Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.

· Keep the fleet yard organized and assist with inventory management of parts, tools, and equipment.

· Perform basic vehicle preparation, tire checks, and general upkeep of fleet assets.

· Ensure work areas, tools, and equipment are clean, organized, and safe.

· Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

· Assist with additional facility and fleet maintenance projects as assigned.


Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

· Minimum of 1 year of experience performing oil changes on DOT vehicles (Class III–Class VIII).

· Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work including bending, kneeling, crawling, and standing for extended periods.

· CDL is not required but is considered a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working with commercial fleet vehicles, construction equipment, or heavy-duty trucks.

· Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and preventative maintenance programs.

· Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations.

· Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.

· Experience maintaining fleet yards, inventories, and vehicle records.

Work Environment

· Primarily capacity will be working out of a service truck in various yards.

· Required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Travel to pick up parts, equipment, or support field operations.

· Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
