Job description


Peak Landscape, Inc., a commercial landscape company, is seeking a Lead Fleet Mechanic to oversee the management, maintenance, and compliance of our company vehicles and equipment for our South Seattle Branch. This is a full-time position responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the company's fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Proven experience managing a fleet of full-size trucks, trailers, and large-engine equipment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to oversee fleet operations.
  • Ability to track and maintain compliance with fleet regulations, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
  • Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and addressing vehicle or equipment issues.
  • High-level knowledge and skill for proper diagnosing and critical repairs or rebuilds.
  • The ideal individual will be honest, hardworking, and a self-starter.

Duties:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of company vehicles, trailers, and small engine equipment.
  • Oversee the general conditions of the shop and yard space at our South Seattle branch, ensuring good organization, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of fleet inventory, repairs, maintenance schedules, and compliance.
  • A special emphasis on implementing the use of existing software systems for tracking.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and managers to minimize downtime of vehicles and equipment.
  • Communication with production teams to clearly outline expectations and timelines for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment are safe, clean, and compliant with regulations.
  • Troubleshoot fleet issues and collaborate with local vendors for parts and supplies.
  • Assist in creating a culture of safety and efficiency across the organization's fleet operations.
  • Communicating/coordinating with Fleet Manager on priority, budgets, needs, etc.

Requirements
  • Extensive mechanical eexperience
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a vehicle, diesel, and/or fleet maintenance technicial
  • Management experiemce
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or shop management role, demonstrating the ability to run daily shop operations efficiently
  • Industry certifications: ASE certifications or similar credentials
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus
