Fleet Fueling involves overseeing fueling operations for entire vehicle fleets, often managing multiple fueling stations or mobile services. What are the typical challenges faced by Fleet Fueling professionals, and how can they be managed effectively?

Fleet Fueling professionals often encounter challenges such as coordinating fuel deliveries to multiple locations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining fuel quality. Managing tight schedules and responding to unexpected vehicle demand can be stressful, but strong communication with dispatchers and drivers, along with effective route planning, can help. Staying updated on environmental and safety regulations, and using fleet management software, also contribute to smoother operations and minimize downtime.

What is fleet fueling?

Fleet fueling refers to the process of providing fuel to multiple vehicles owned or operated by a business or organization, usually at a centralized location or through mobile fueling services. This service helps companies manage fuel expenses, track consumption, and ensure their vehicles are always ready for operation. Fleet fueling can improve operational efficiency by reducing downtime and administrative tasks related to fueling individual vehicles. It is commonly used by delivery companies, transportation services, and organizations with large vehicle fleets.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fleet Fueling Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fleet Fueling Technician, you need knowledge of fuel handling procedures, safety regulations, and a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with fuel management systems, mobile fueling equipment, and hazardous material certifications (such as HAZMAT) is typically required. Attention to detail, reliability, and strong communication skills are important soft skills for managing schedules and maintaining safety standards. These skills and qualifications are critical to ensuring efficient, compliant, and safe fueling operations for fleet vehicles.

Job description

We Are Growing!!!

Fleet Fuel Driver | Local, Hourly, Overtime, No Weekends!

Davidson Oil is hiring a Fleet Fuel Delivery Driver in Amarillo, TX. This isn't just another driving job. It's a mission-critical role where you help power fleets that power entire businesses. You're not just dropping fuel. You're keeping customers on the road, on schedule, and in business.

We're looking for a reliable professional with a CDL A or B and Hazmat/Tanker endorsements to run our mid shift fleet fueling route. This job is 100% local, Monday through Friday and evening overflow fuel routes.

If you've got experience and a strong work ethic, we'll train you on the rest. If you already have fuel delivery experience, even better. Either way, if you care about doing the job right and putting the customer first, keep reading.

This role is full-time and hourly, with the opportunity for steady overtime...and thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill, your overtime pay is now tax-free. That means more of what you earn, stays yours.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain customer relationships to meet customers fuel and service needs.
  • Deliver bobtail & wet-hose gasoline and diesel to local fleet yards and commercial equipment
  • Track gallons and product type for each unit fueled, every stop, every day
  • Operate safely and smartly to minimize drive time and maximize customer care
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers to solve problems and avoid surprises
  • Perform daily inspections and take care of your truck like it's your own

Why This Role Matters

Many of Davidson Oil's customers run 24/7 operations. If we don't show up and fuel them up, they can't run. This job is the difference between their team starting the day or sitting still. That's why we pay attention, stay organized, and fuel every truck and tank like it's our own business on the line. Because it is. When we say "Customer First", this is what we mean.

Perks and Pay

  • Mid shift 1pm to 10pm
  • Paid hourly, not by the load or the mile
  • Overtime paid after 40 worked hours per week
  • Home every night and every weekend
  • Modern equipment and a great support team
  • Company that actually lives its values

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
  • 2 years or 100,000 miles of verifiable CMV driving experience
  • Strong safety record and clean MVR (no more than 1 moving violation in 3 years)
  • Pre-employment screening requirements apply.
  • Fuel experience preferred, but not required - we'll train the right person
  • Physically able to climb, lift hoses, and fuel dozens of pieces of equipment

Veterans Welcome

We love hiring Veterans. You understand mission, you know how to stay calm under pressure, and you believe in taking care of your teammates. This job has your name written all over it.
