How much do cryogenic transport jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 28, 2026, the average hourly pay for cryogenic transport in the United States is $26.21, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $24.04 and $27.88 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How to work in cryogenics?

Working in cryogenics involves handling extremely cold substances, requiring knowledge of safety protocols, proper use of specialized equipment, and often a background in engineering, physics, or chemistry. Certifications in cryogenic safety and experience with cryogenic systems are typically necessary for employment in this field.

What company in Texas is paying truckers $14000 a week?

Cryogenic transport truck drivers can earn high weekly pay, with some companies offering up to $14,000 for experienced drivers handling specialized equipment and hazardous materials. Such compensation often reflects long hours, extensive routes, and the need for certifications like HAZMAT and CDL endorsements.

What is the difference between Cryogenic Transport vs Cryogenic Technician?

AspectCryogenic TransportCryogenic Technician
CertificationsCommercial Driver’s License (CDL), hazardous materials endorsementHVAC or refrigeration certifications, safety training
Work EnvironmentTransport vehicles, logistics facilitiesLaboratories, maintenance facilities, installation sites
Job FocusTransporting cryogenic liquids safely over distancesMaintaining, repairing, and installing cryogenic equipment

While both roles involve working with cryogenic materials, Cryogenic Transport focuses on safely driving and delivering cryogenic liquids, requiring commercial driving credentials. Cryogenic Technicians specialize in maintaining and repairing cryogenic systems, often requiring technical certifications. Both roles are essential in the industry but differ in daily tasks and work environments.

What is cryogenic transport?

Cryogenic transport involves the specialized movement of extremely cold liquids or gases, such as liquid nitrogen or oxygen, using insulated containers and vehicles. Workers in this field must understand temperature control, safety protocols, and proper handling procedures to prevent hazards. It often requires certifications in hazardous materials and knowledge of cryogenic equipment.

What is the highest paying transportation job?

In the transportation industry, specialized roles such as cryogenic transport drivers or hazardous materials haulers tend to have higher salaries due to the technical skills and safety certifications required. These positions often offer higher pay compared to standard trucking or delivery jobs, especially for those with extensive experience and proper licensing. Factors like certification, experience, and the complexity of the cargo influence compensation levels.

Job description

Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE
New York University Tandon School of Engineering
The NYU Nanolab at New York University Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Associate to work in quantum information science and engineering, with a focus on superconducting and superconductor-semiconductor hybrid quantum devices.
New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering, located in Brooklyn, NY, is deeply committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Tandon fosters student and faculty innovation and entrepreneurship that make a difference in the world. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and NYU Nanolab host a growing interdisciplinary research program in superconducting and semiconductor-based quantum technologies, with strong ties to national laboratories and industry partners.
Responsibilities
Candidates will be responsible for conducting experimental research in superconducting quantum hardware and quantum materials, contributing to sponsored research projects in quantum information science and engineering. Responsibilities include nanofabrication, materials synthesis, cryogenic transport and microwave characterization of quantum devices, data analysis, and dissemination of results through publications and presentations.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in experimental quantum materials, superconductivity, or semiconductor device physics, as evidenced by a strong publication record. Previous experience in superconducting devices, cryogenic measurements, or microwave characterization is necessary.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to one or more of the following research directions:
1. Superconductor-semiconductor hybrid quantum devices
2. Superconducting quantum circuits
Salary range
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $65,000 to $70,000 depending on the candidate's experience and qualification.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field. We welcome applicants with recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
Required qualifications include:
  • Strong experimental background in superconductivity, quantum transport, semiconductor device physics, or cryogenic measurements
  • Experience in at least one of the following: superconducting device fabrication, cryogenic transport measurements, or RF/microwave measurements

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Cleanroom nanofabrication experience (e-beam lithography, UHV thin-film deposition, dry/wet etching, materials and surface metrologies)
  • Experience operating dilution refrigerators
  • Expertise in superconducting microwave circuit design and measurement

Application Instructions
Applicants should submit, as one pdf, the following information:
  • an up-to-date CV that includes a complete list of publications,
  • a research statement that describes their interest and goals and how their research relates to this position,
  • copies of up to three representative scientific papers,
  • names and contact information for three references.

All application materials should be submitted electronically via Interfolio and to davood@nyu.edu
Review of applications will begin as soon as possible and will continue until the position is filled. Expected start date is open.
