Software Engineer / Analyst II | Palo Verde

• Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
• PLUS two (2) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
• OR (for positions in IT Digital Solutions Delivery) an advanced degree in Data Science, Data/Quantitative/Business Analytics or Economics, Mathematics or Engineering with a focus in Data Science is required.-
• Requires basic technical subject matter knowledge within a job area or system

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Python including experience with libraries and frameworks relevant to ML/GenAI application development (e.g., LangChain)
• Knowledge of API development frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI) and knowledge of web standards relating to API development (e.g., CORS, OpenAPI)
• Experience with modern web development frameworks and languages, including React, Typescript, and Node.js with experience building and maintaining front-end and backendapplications
• Familiarity working with production-grade vector databases (e.g., pgvector, Chroma, or Milvus) for efficient storage and retrieval of embeddings
• Familiarity with relational databases
• Solid understanding of modern software development practices 
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Ability to work with unit tests, integration tests and common Python testing frameworks 
• Strong analytical skills, and a creative mindset to effectively define problems and explore solutions
• Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels 
• Ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion
• Ability to continually learn and grow in the AL/ML field 
  Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response
  Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
  Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
  This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
  These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.

1) Support the development of full-stack solutions for ML/GenAI applications, integrating both frontend and backend components to deliver robust and scalable solutions 
2) Work closely with AI/Machine Learning Engineers to develop prototypes that solve business requirements 
3) Contribute to the ideation and development of solutions; collaborate with AI/ML Engineers to transition prototypes into production 
4) Code, test, and debug application systems per specifications 
5) Prepare appropriate system and user documentation 
6) Analyzes and resolves development issues in a timely manner
7) Conducts analysis of codes and develops/ deploys defect fixes in engineering processes
8) Proactively assists internal clients with technical issues related to solution implementation

9) Stays up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to help foster innovation
