Your Role:
  • Deliver urgent surgical care to patients presenting with acute conditions such as appendicitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, bowel obstruction, trauma, and more.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, APPs, and nurses to deliver timely and coordinated care.
  • Utilize both open and minimally invasive techniques across a broad range of complex surgical conditions.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives aligned with RRH's system goals and shared values.
  • Support the development of the upcoming General Surgery Residency by engaging in education and mentorship of residents and medical students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the academic growth of the department through teaching and collaboration.

What You Bring:
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
  • Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care, Acute Care Surgery, or Trauma is ideal but not required
  • Minimum 3 years of independent Emergency General Surgery experience in a hospital setting required
  • NYS Medical License (or eligibility)
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex surgical emergencies
  • Passion for patient-centered, team-based care
  • Strong communication skills and clinical judgment under pressure
  • Commitment to education and professional growth
