Job description

POSITION TITLE: Assistant Store Manager
DEPARTMENT: Business Office
SUPERVISOR: School Store Manager
STATUS: Part-Time (20 hours a week)
FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
HOURS OF WORK: 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Essential
LOCATION: On-Campus
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Store Manager will assist the manager in the daily operations of the school store.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Daily operations of opening and closing the school store. Including reconciling the cash drawer.
  • Exceptional customer service required.
  • Daily cleaning and maintaining the store appearance.
  • Overseeing store website and online orders. Adding new products, updating products, and preparing online shipments.
  • Assisting Manager in maintaining inventory (including annual physical inventory count).
  • Daily restocking of merchandise, food, and drink.
  • Working with the manager on ordering and receiving school supplies, clothing, gifts, and food/drink.
  • Establishing and maintaining a friendly atmosphere with customers in person as well as over the phone.
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
  • Lifting required
  • Reduced/Flexible summer hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift/maneuver boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and work ethic.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Goal-oriented team player.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday as needed, 20 hours per week, but could be more or less based on the school schedule.

COMPENSATION:
