Job description

Overview

Flagger Force, an industry leader in traffic control, is currently hiring an Associate Vice President of Field Operations based out of our Atlanta, GA office.

The Associate Vice President of Field Operations (AVP) is a senior leader who manages and grows a regional portfolio of operational execution. This portfolio will include a leadership hierarchy in charge of maintaining excellent relationships with strategic clients and managing downstream management focused on contract and retail customers. Additionally, they will be focused on ensuring outstanding performance and the well-being of front-line staff working in this region. The AVP will develop and maintain strong senior-level customer relationships within and outside of their region. The AVP will also ensure that Flagger Force executives, directors, and managers develop strategic client linkages across their portfolio. Furthermore, the AVP will support and manage the Directors of Field Operations (DFO) in developing strong relationships focused on strategic & key contract customers and Flagger Force front-line staff in order to maintain cohesive field organization. To ensure customer satisfaction with our services, the AVP will lead strategic efforts such as planning, balancing, and prioritizing field service activities. This function is crucial to the effective and successful execution of projects, the delivery of services, and the achievement of shared operational goals. The AVP will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with the VP of Sales, VP of Operations, senior management, and team members to ensure field strategy is fully aligned with corporate strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement field operations strategies, objectives, and plans that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Resource Management: Manage, balance, and prioritize operational field resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise field personnel, including Directors of Field Operations, Field Managers, Area Supervisors, and other team members. Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage the planning, execution, and completion of field projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control processes and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality products or services in the field.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that field operations adhere to safety regulations and industry standards. Enforce safety protocols and guidelines and work closely with our Safety team, including a strong relationship with the Associate Vice President of Safety.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control field operations expenses to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and effectiveness of field operations. Implement improvements based on data and analysis.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to field operations, including issues that may impact safety, compliance, or project timelines.
  • Technology Integration: Support evolving technology that supports Field Operations and Clients and implement technology solutions as provided.
  • Field Communication: Strategically align and collaborate with the internal communication team to ensure ongoing, effective communication channels for a highly dispersed front-line workforce.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within field operations, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and increase productivity.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for executive and senior management, providing updates on field operations performance, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business management).
  • 10+ years of in operations management, preferably in a leadership role.
