Position Summary:The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for the complete lifecycle management of fixed assets and capital projects, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of asset records and related accounting activities. This position serves as a key control function between Finance, Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams, providing independent oversight of asset investments, project execution, capitalization, asset utilization, and maintenance cost management.The role requires both accounting expertise and on-site operational engagement. The Fixed Asset Accountant will participate in capital project reviews, monitor project progress, verify asset conditions, conduct periodic asset inspections, support asset inventory counts, analyze maintenance and repair costs, and ensure company asset management policies and procedures are effectively implemented.Position Requirements:Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a related field.Minimum 2 years of experience in fixed asset accounting, capital project accounting, plant accounting, or asset management.Manufacturing industry experience is preferred.Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and fixed asset modules.Technical KnowledgeStrong understanding of fixed asset accounting, capitalization policies, depreciation, asset transfers, disposals, and impairment assessments.Familiarity with capital project management processes, including budgeting, contract management, asset capitalization, and project close-out.Knowledge of maintenance expense analysis, inventory control, and asset lifecycle management.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.Core CompetenciesAbility to independently evaluate capital investments and provide objective recommendations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Willingness to perform regular site inspections and verify physical asset conditions.Ability to identify asset management issues, drive corrective actions, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to establish clear accountability and ensure compliance with asset management procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain fixed asset records, including additions, transfers, location changes, status changes, disposals, and accident-related asset transactions.Review and monitor capital expenditure projects from initiation through capitalization and project closure.Participate in project approval and completion reviews, providing financial and asset management perspectives.Conduct periodic plant and asset inspections to verify asset existence, condition, and utilization.Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts and asset reconciliation activities.Monitor maintenance activities, repair costs, spare parts usage, and maintenance budget forecasts.Analyze asset utilization, inventory levels, and maintenance cost trends, and prepare regular management reports.Support annual budgeting and capital expenditure planning processes.Deliver asset management training and promote asset accountability across operational departments.Ensure compliance with company asset management policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.Hours and Benefits:Base work schedule is Monday thru Friday, onsite during day hours with overtime as needed for business necessity, projects and month end close.Plumino offers an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, prescription drug and dental insurance, FSA/HSA, life and disability insurance, 401k match and profit sharing (up to 7%), and vacation (15 days annually).Salaried wages range from $60,000 to $85,000 annually, based on education and experience.
