EyeCare Partners is currently seeking an Accounting Manager of Fixed Assets to be a trusted leader of the EyeCare Partners finance team. This position is part of the General Accounting team within Finance, which includes subject matter experts over fixed assets, leases, general ledger accounting and payroll. This individual will utilize their knowledge to manage and complete a timely month end close, review journal entries for proper accounting, review reconciliations, and work with the Director of Accounting to provide critical analysis of fixed asset accounting matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor fixed assets team member(s) to manage monthly general ledger close process and analyze. Explain period over period variances reporting to the Accounting Director.
  • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP ASC 360 to ensure proper capitalization of assets
  • Administer ECP's capital policies related to processing capital asset transactions, e.g. approval thresholds and useful lives established by asset type
  • Own and maintain the ECP fixed asset accounting process and policy, updating documentation as necessary and posting on company intranet
  • Monitor construction in progress to ensure assets are placed in service in a timely manner
  • Oversee the acquisition, capitalization, disposal, or transfers, of all ECP fixed assets
  • Partner with the Bio-Med team to reconcile assets between their maintenance management system, UpKeep, and SAP; ensuring all departments understand SAP is the one source of truth for asset valuations
  • Partner with the Tax team to ensure assets are in site-specific alignment for purposes of filing local tax returns, ensuring subledger agrees to trial balance
  • Partner with IS Finance to provide guidance for cloud arrangements vs capital, coordinate with GL Accounting
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries in SAP, monthly account fluctuation analysis and reconciliations
  • Prepare a monthly rollforward of all fixed asset activity for proper cash flow statement reporting (and to meet Tax Dept objectives)
  • Attend all Real Estate team update calls for awareness of planned changes; in addition to ensuring alignment of fixed asset processes by providing guidance, training and support to finance and operational teams as needed.
  • Manage the financial statement audit process with external auditors as it relates to fixed asset accounting
  • Assist FP&A team with depreciation projections for quarterly forecasts and next year budget
  • Support the capital budget preparation and provide guidance on accounting treatment
  • Participate in SAP enhancements to build a more automated process, request training as needed

Experience Requirements:

  • 5 - 7 years' experience in an accounting manager or in a senior staff level position
  • 2 - 4 years' experience in public accounting or working in a finance role within a public company preferred
  • Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to complete a task or project
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
  • Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function:
    • Office 365, intermediate Excel, Accounting Software, SAP preferred
