About the role
As a Consulting Principal - Fixed Income Transformation, you will lead large-scale transformation initiatives focused on modernizing legacy platforms within fixed income environments. You will play a critical role in early-stage program definition - conducting current-state assessments, identifying capability gaps, and shaping future-state solutions leveraging commercial platforms.
You will work closely with clients, consulting teams, and technology partners to drive complex transformation programs and deliver business outcomes across the fixed income lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead discovery, scoping, and gap assessment efforts for modernization programs, mapping legacy workflows to target-state platforms

  • Partner with senior stakeholders and executive leadership to shape transformation strategy and roadmap
  • Oversee delivery of large-scale programs, ensuring alignment across business, technology, and operations teams
  • Provide domain leadership across fixed income products, including securities lifecycle processes and servicing models
  • Mentor consulting teams and contribute to practice growth through thought leadership and solution development
  • Consistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead through strong client focus, collaboration, and accountability

What you must have to be considered
  • 15+ years of consulting or industry experience in fixed income/government security projects/environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale system modernization or transformation initiatives
  • Strong expertise in business analysis, process mapping, and gap assessment methodologies
  • Solid understanding of fixed income products and lifecycle processes (e.g., issuance, servicing, settlement)
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex consulting engagements
  • U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain a Public Trust or equivalent clearance

These will help you succeed
  • Experience working with commercial financial platforms and integrating them into legacy environments
  • Familiarity with mainframe modernization or core platform replacement programs
  • Domain knowledge of government securities and regulated financial environments
  • Strong program management skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and evolving requirements
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent)

We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don't hesitate to apply-even if you don't meet every requirement. Your transferable experience and perspective matter.
Compensation
• $165,000 - $194,000 annually
• This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
Benefits
