About Us:

Founded 20 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 600 people operating throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.

Overview: 

We are seeking a Junior Trader with Fixed Income experience to join our trading team in Northfield, Illinois. This role is built for someone with experience on a relative value trading desk who is hungry, disciplined, and willing to put in the work required to develop into a strong trader.

This is an on-site role. Candidates must be willing to relocate to the Chicago area and work from our Northfield office for no less than two years.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support relative value trading activity across fixed income and related markets.
  • Help identify and evaluate relative value opportunities.
  • Monitor market conditions, liquidity, positioning, and macroeconomic developments.
  • Assist with trade execution, risk monitoring, and portfolio analysis.
  • Work closely with senior traders, research, risk, and operations teams.
  • Build and maintain tools, reports, and models to support trading decisions.
  • Stay engaged with markets throughout the day and be prepared to work long hours when conditions require it.

Requirements:

  • Experience on a relative value trading desk, 6 months minimum.
  • Fixed income trading experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, discipline, and willingness to grind through details.
  • Ability to learn quickly, take feedback, and improve through repetition.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in a demanding, performance-driven trading environment.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Chicago area.
  • Must be able to work onsite at our Northfield office for a minimum of two years.
  • Takes ownership of outcomes and does not need constant hand-holding.
  • Is curious about markets and willing to do the daily work required to build edge.
  • Can handle pressure, uncertainty, and direct feedback.
  • Cares about precision, risk, and process.
