Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Associate/Senior Accountant to join our Client Accounting & Advisory Services Group. As an Accounting Senior Associate specializing in Real Estate with our team, you will play a key role in overseeing accounting functions for diverse property portfolios while leveraging technology to deliver financial insights. This role combines traditional accounting expertise with advanced reporting and analytics, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of our real estate clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting functions for property portfolios, including retail, residential, and commercial real estate.

  • Oversee A/P and A/R activity across multiple properties and tenants.

  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Perform income and expense variance analysis; prepare cash flow, NOI, and KPI reports.

  • Handle recoverable billing, including RET/CAM reconciliations.

  • Oversee general ledger functions, month-end close, and journal entries.

  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, track capitalization, and roll forward capital accounts.

  • Assist in annual budgets and forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (sales tax, debt reporting, RPIE, TC201, etc.).

  • Support tax filings, payroll, and client correspondence.

  • Maintain organized records and provide financial documentation to support management and clients.

  • Perform other duties as required to support the team and firm.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; recent graduates with strong real estate internship experience will be considered.

  • Minimum 2 years of real estate accounting experience.

  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager (required).

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, real estate reporting, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
