Job description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with preparation of U.S. federal consolidated, state, and local income tax returns, estimated payments, extensions, annual reports, and related filings.
  2. Gather, organize, reconcile, and analyze accounting and tax data from general ledger, fixed asset, trial balance, and business unit sources.
  3. Prepare and maintain tax workpapers, reconciliations, calendars, checklists, and supporting documentation.
  4. Support quarterly and annual income tax provision processes, including book/tax differences, deferred tax schedules, return-to-provision items, and audit documentation.
  5. Assist with fixed asset and tax depreciation analysis and related compliance schedules and calculations.
  6. Support state income tax compliance, including apportionment, state modifications, payment tracking, and notices.
  7. Assist with tax audits, notices, inquiries, and basic federal, state, and local tax research.
  8. Coordinate with Tax, Accounting, business units, external advisors, and taxing authorities as needed.
  9. Participate in process improvement, AI automation, data-quality, and other tax department projects.
  10. Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required – Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA eligibility, CPA progress, or interest in a master’s in taxation preferred
  • 0-4 years of tax, accounting, audit, finance, or relevant internship experience preferred 
  • Foundational accounting knowledge and interest in corporate income tax, ASC 740, and state tax compliance
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with tax software, ERP systems, fixed asset systems, Alteryx, Power BI, or AI Automation tools is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, organization, and follow-through
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams 
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of assigned tasks

Target salary range: $55,000-$65,000
