Job description

Instructor of Science Specifically looking for an instructor for biology, accelerated biology, & AP biology


Salary will be based on degree and years of experience so can range from $40,000 to $80,000

Housing is a possibility, but not a guarantee as housing assignments are complete for the coming school year and we only have 1 unoccupied dorm apartment.


Responsibilities:

• Teach 5 sections of science. Likely subjects include biology, physics (9th grade), engineering, and/or chemistry.

• Design learning to engage and inspire students.

• When relevant, imbed key competencies into the learning environment.

• Enthusiastic and contributing member of the academic team.

• Using authentic feedback and assessment, report on students’ progress regularly.

• Understand and utilize technology as a teaching tool to maximize student learning.

• Provide differentiated instruction for all students in collaboration with the Student Support Team.


Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or education and five (5) years of teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience and qualifications to teach science, particularly biology and/or engineering, at multiple levels.


Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in education, science, or other appropriate field.

• Five years of teaching experience in independent high schools.

• Two or more years teaching science at the AP level, with relevant training from College Board.
