Requirements
Summary:
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Technician supports daily operational needs by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and system analysis to ensure reliable equipment performance and sustained site viability. This role plays a key part in executing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies with a strong emphasis on cost reduction, process efficiency, safety enhancements, and optimized workflow. The Mechanical Technician is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to learning, gaining broad operational knowledge, and continuously developing technical skills to support career growth within the organization
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED - Required
Work Background:
1-3 years in a maintenance role

Key Responsibilities (What/How):
• Creates maintenance procedures to ensure effective diagnosis of equipment failure, necessary preventive measures, and repair processes upon breakdown
• Implements and maintains maintenance management systems related to preventive and reactive maintenance
• Coordinate the collection and dispatch of oil samples for analysis and determine appropriate actions based on findings to ensure optimal operational efficiency of the equipment
• Works with maintenance team to diagnose equipment faults/failures and develop long-term solutions
• Makes recommendations for necessary machine improvements and proactively seeks approval from Maintenance Manager on special components, fixtures, and fittings
• Oversee the inventory and distribution of tools required by maintenance team members to support their tasks efficiently
• Take part in internal and customer audits representing the maintenance department and address any findings or recommendations.
• Develops and maintains metrics around equipment functionality
• Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
• Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 - 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
