Description

The Reactive Maintenance Technician performs industrial maintenance including the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment. This includes both mechanical and electrical systems. The role supports operational efficiency by following all safety protocols, predictive maintenance practices, and preventive maintenance standards aligned with Fitesa's business objectives.


This is a night shift position in a non-climate controlled facility.


Shift Information:

  • 8 pm - 8 am on a 2/2/3 rotation. Straight nights.

What You'll Do:

  • Install and maintain production machines and the plant's facilities equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Support scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
  • Perform simple machinist duties.
  • Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.


Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Associate's Degree in Mechatronics - Preferred

Work Experience and Technical Competencies:

  • 1 year as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing plant - required
  • 3-5 years as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing plant - Preferred
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with motors, bearings, and equipment repair
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
  • CMMS or work order system experience
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to understand and interpret process settings and center lines
  • Ability to read and interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations documents
  • Ability to use a calculator and apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read and interpret measurement from a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring device in standard and metric systems
  • Statistical Analysis skills with the ability to establish and audit against goals

Physical Requirements:
