Job description

Position Overviewย 

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the fit-out of hyperscale data center white space within colocation environments. This roleย is responsible forย managing all aspects of tenant fit-out construction, including coordination of trades, sequencing of work, quality control, and delivery of mission-critical infrastructure.ย 

The ideal candidate has strong construction management experience in data centers, with a solid understanding of white space infrastructure such as containment systems, overhead conveyance (including ladder racks and cable tray systems), structural support frameworks, and cooling components (HVAC). Familiarity with structured cabling systems (low voltage and fiber) is a plus.ย 

  • This is a full-time salaried position offering competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, paid training and performance-based bonuses.
  • This position is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area and will work onsite for local data center projects.
  • Approximately 50% travel outside of the Texas area should be expected at times.

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Lead on-site construction management for data center white space fit-out projects
  • Oversee installation of: ย 
    • Hot aisle / cold aisle containment systemsย ย 
    • Overhead cable tray systems and ladder rack conveyanceย ย 
    • Structural support systems for cabinets, racks, cable trays, and electrical power distribution infrastructureย ย 
    • Cooling infrastructure, including HVAC units ย 
    • Power distribution from PDU down to cabinet level
  • Manage trade contractors and ensure proper sequencing of work (e.g., structural supports overhead conveyance electrical distribution cabling containment) toย maintainย schedule and avoid conflictsย ย 
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and client stakeholdersย ย 
  • Enforce quality control (QC) processes to ensure installations meet design specifications, load requirements, and industry standardsย ย 
  • Monitor project schedule, budget, and progress; proactivelyย identifyย and resolve risks/issuesย ย 
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and site protocolsย ย 
  • Review construction drawings, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings related to supports and overhead systemsย ย 
  • Verify proper installation tolerances, anchoring, and support systems for overhead infrastructureย ย 
  • Support commissioning and handover processesย ย 

Required Qualificationsย 

  • 5-10+ years of construction management experience, preferably in mission-critical or data center environments ย 
  • Proven experience managing white space fit-out / tenant improvement projects in colocation or hyperscale data centersย ย 
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, trade coordination, and site managementย ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and deliver projects on scheduleย ย 
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, including inspection of support systems and overhead installationsย ย 
  • Projectย Management skills including schedulingย and budgetingย 
  • Candidate must have strongย problem-solving and decision-makingย skillsย 
  • Strong stakeholderย and clientย communicationย ย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • Familiarity with low voltage cabling (LVC) and/or fiber optic infrastructure within data centersย ย 
  • Procore experience is strongly preferredย 
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling systems, pathways, and routing within overhead conveyance systemsย ย 
  • RCDD-level knowledge or experience with structured cabling design standards (e.g., setting or enforcing standards)ย ย 
  • Experience coordinating structural support systems with electrical and mechanical tradesย ย 
  • Experience in commissioning or turnover of data center white space environmentsย ย
