Quality Control Manager - Heavy Civil Engineering
McMillen, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager with heavy civil construction experience to support projects focused on dam and lock electrical work. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of the Contractor's and/or Client's Quality Control Program, including the coordination, performance and execution of construction inspection and testing services. The QC Manager is responsible for assuring that the quality of the work meets or exceeds the project's contractual requirements and maintains the standard of excellence established by the firm.

From concept to completion, projects are guided through feasibility studies, permitting, design, construction, and commissioning, ensuring technical precision and real-world functionality.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Quality Control practices and procedures
  • Ensure all work complies with contractual requirements, specifications, and drawings
  • Verify materials incorporated into the project meet approved submittals and specifications
  • Execute required testing procedures in accordance with contract documents and industry standards
  • Prepare professional correspondence for clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Monitor, document, and track QC documentation, including daily reports, testing and inspection reports, and preparatory/initial meetings
  • Review special inspections and material testing performed by third parties

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field highly desired
  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience in a Quality Control capacity
  • Experience with dam and lock electrical work is required
  • Previous USACE experience is a plus
  • USACE CQCM certification or ability to obtain certification
  • OSHA 30 preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation Package:
  • Pay Range: $120,000 - $160,000(DOE)
  • Benefits: McMillen provides a full Benefits Program comprising medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, EAP, 401(k) and match, 9 paid holidays, generous PTO, opportunity for stock ownership, and wellness reimbursement. Quality Control Manager assigned to projects more than 70 miles from their residence are eligible for subsistence and home leave benefits. We also offer a company truck or vehicle allowance, along with mobile phone options.
