Description JOBDESCRIPTION POSITION: Red Cliff Fish Company Laborers - LTE LOCATION: RedCliffFish Company SALARY: $15.00/hour, 40 hours/week SUPERVISOR(S): Red Cliff Fish Company Business and Operations Managers THIS IS A FULL TIME, 90 DAY LIMITED TERM NON-EXEMPT POSITION WITH THE POTENTIAL TO BE EXTENDED DEPENDING ON THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDING. Our business model allows us to manage all parts of the supply chain from harvesting and fishing to processing, shipping, and distribution, to provide customers with fresh, sustainable, high-quality products. The Red Cliff Fish Company offers the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives and work with our sustainable resources to provide healthy products to consumers worldwide. Laborer will primarily be weighing, dressing, filleting, and packaging fish.

Laborer will also assist in operating machinery and performing daily sanitation duties. Some work in retail space may also be required. Examples of Duties DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with Assistant Operations Manager and Operations Manager to learn and follow company procedures for processing and sanitizing.

Safely utilize knives and machinery to dress, scale and fillet fish. Assist staff in receiving and weighing 100-pound boxes of fish and bulk package for shipment. Grade and separate fish according to size and quality.

Assist staff in preparing and packaging fish orders for delivery. Assist staff with preparing products for smoking, vacuum packing, and other processing as needed. Assist staff in retail area selling, packaging, and stocking of Fish Company products.

Operate point of sales system as needed. Assist staff with composting of fish waste at the Mino Bimaadiziiwin Tribal Farm. Help with sanitation and groundskeeping of the facility.

Will include daily cleanings, daily disinfection, snow plowing, snow shoveling, salting sidewalks, and more. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: None Typical Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: Strong desire to learn and be taught about fish processing. Ability to adhere to company deadlines, standards, and directions. Strong desire to learn and be taught about equipment in the facility.

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Possess the discipline to monitor progress consistently and stick to priorities when prudent or adjust the plans when appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age or older.

Experience in manufacturing in a food processing environment or comparable experience preferred, not required. Prior fish production experience preferred, not required. Prior retail and/or customer service experience preferred, not required.

Supplemental Information PERSONAL CONTACTS: Daily contact with Red Cliff Fish Company staff, Treaty Natural Resources Division staff, vendors, customers, and fishermen. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time in cold temperatures.

Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information in person. Average visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect product or prepare machinery. Standing and walking 90% of the time.

Exerts a minimum of 100 lbs. of force regularly lifting, carrying and moving product in production areas. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fish Plant with cold temperatures.

Work setting must be maintained as a clean, nonsmoking, well-ventilated area in compliance with all applicable safety regulations. All tribal buildings are smoke free. The manner in which the employee relates to fellow employees, customers and visitors is considered parallel in importance to technical knowledge and ability. Respect and consideration given to the dignity of each customer, visitor and fellow employee is a requisite of successful job performance. Any behavior or attitude that tarnishes the name or image of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa will be subject to immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination.
