What You'll Bring

Required

  • Minnesota Wetland Professional Certification Program (Certified Wetland Professional).

  • BS in environmental science, biology, natural resources, or related discipline (minimum 3.0 GPA) or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years (5 years strongly preferred) in environmental consulting or related field.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Wetland delineation using U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and Regional Supplements.

    • Plant identification, soil sampling, hydric soil identification, and hydrology indicators.

    • Strong data management and technical report writing skills.

  • Other:

    • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

    • Travel up to 50% in summer/growing season and 20% in off season

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.

    • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Professional Wetland Certificate (nationwide) and Assure Delineator (Wisconsin).

  • Experience with NEPA environmental assessments, permitting, and compliance documentation.

  • Familiarity with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, and state/local agency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform wetland delineations across upper Midwest states using federal and regional protocols.

  • Conduct habitat assessments, environmental due diligence, and impact studies under NEPA.

  • Prepare compliance management plans and multi-media permitting documentation.

  • Support project delivery through field surveys, data analysis, literature reviews, and technical reporting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and recommendations for clients.

  • Maintain quality, budget, and schedule expectations while supporting ERM's Impact Assessment team goals.

For the Senior Consultant, Lead Wetland Delineator position, the anticipated annual base pay is $80,120 - $102,301 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
