Job description

Southview Designs Internship Program was started with a purpose of giving students in the Landscape and Horticulture Industry the opportunity to experience the green industry firsthand; to build a working knowledge of landscape design-build-maintenance and a sense of the overall operation of a successful landscape company.

Our unique internship consists of an 8-week (60 day) training schedule in which the intern transitions into various positions throughout a successful landscape business. The internship is paid starting between $20-21/hour. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, however there may be some Saturday and or after hours needed. The total work week will total up to 40 hours/week unless production or projects require overtime work.

Southview Design is dedicated to making sure the internship is successful for each of its interns. To ensure the intern receives the best experience possible Southview will:

  • Provide a mentor
  • Provide necessary feedback and evaluations of performance
  • Provide a safe and secure environment within which to work
  • Supply cap, shirts, and pants as a uniform is required when in the field working

The program will cover a variety of activities in the field and office and provide engagement with different Southview staff. Interns will rotate through various departments on a bi-weekly basis, the schedule of rotation will vary greatly based on production and availability of staff members. The training activities are listed below.
