Job Summary

DRS RADA Technologies is hiring an Assembler to join its 1st shift team at our Germantown, MD location.  This position is full time and on-site. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced-level assembly functions, which may include: prep, mechanical, harness, cable, printed circuit board sub-assemblies, spray application, and inspection, typically working from models and/or drawings, within Production 
  • Perform soldering and installation of electronics components to PWA's, using a wide range of tools and equipment
  • Interpret blueprints, Process Flow Instructions and other written instructions 
  • Responsible for producing quality work to production standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule 
  • Follow written work instructions
  • Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget
  • Work under minimal supervision on tasks that are routine
  • Perform more detailed and assembly tasks that require experience in the specified processes 
  • Experienced with production planning and accomplishing assigned goals
  • Communicate with other functional departments, such as Manufacturing Engineering and Quality 
  • Resolve assembly process barriers
  • Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
  • Self-starter 
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)
  • Proper use of required PPE 
  • Assist in orienting and training lower level employees 
  • Participate in LEAN Events, "Six S" activities, action teams and execution of process improvements
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Will be trained across all assembly product lines
  • If required, perform all aspects of inspection: in-process 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of experience in soldering

The salary range for this position is $19.48/hour-$24.36/hour.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
