Job Description

Benefits:

Signode offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees, which includes health, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, life insurance, wellness perks, and more. Benefits begin the month following the hire date.

Salary: 

The hourly wage for this position is $38.00 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Shift Hours:1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift is available for this position. 

  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:30am - 2:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 10:30pm + $0.65 shift differential pay
  • 3rd Shift: Sunday - Friday 10:30pm - 6:30am + $0.85 shift differential pay

(Note:  Training for this position will be on 3rd Shift: Sunday – Friday; 10:30pm - 6:30am + $0.85 shift differential pay during training.  The training period is up to 6 months).

Sign-On Bonus:

$2000 paid in two installments. The first installment of $500 would be paid on the pay cycle following the employee’s completion of 30 days of employment.  The remaining $1500 would be paid on the pay cycle after the employee reaches 6 months of active employment. 

Summary:

Performs troubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment. Complies with applicable regulations and the department’s Safety program.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs troubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic mechanical systems.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment.
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
  • Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to management.
  • Performs corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs. 
  • Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
  • Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
  • Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.    
  • Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.
Qualifications

Education:

Minimum High School diploma or GED and electrical apprenticeship and/or vocational school/technology certificate in electricity.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of electrical technical hands-on experience including wiring automation machine control panels and PLCs.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues including 480 volts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control circuits, motors, motor control circuits, and other electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics and apply NEC requirements.
  • Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.
  • Ability to read, use and understand gauges, tools and instruments relating to product quality and equipment repair.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must have sound knowledge and experience in Industrial Maintenance environment with repair and troubleshooting machine issues and breakdowns along with general maintenance.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of mechanics and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Must have experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
  • Must have a good working knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, pumps, valves, cylinders, conveyors, etc.
  • Forklifts and scissor lift driving experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Lathe operation experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Must have organization and housekeeping skills.
  • Must have good communication skills throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, overtime and weekends as required.
