MTC is proud to operate the Inland Empire Job Corps Center in San Bernardino, CA where our staff provide quality services to our local youth. We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people’s lives and we want YOU to join our team!

What you will be doing: Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to the student personnel function in accordance with government and management directives.

Essential functions:

1. Coordinate the disposition of student cases with California State Judicial Systems.
2. Act as a liaison between students and immigration officials; assist students in preparation of paperwork to obtain immigration authorization.
3. Maintain and track negative incident reports, student contracts, student payroll deductions and student bus tickets in accordance with DOL and MTC guidelines.
4. Process student violations, leaves, excuser codes and termination files in accordance with DOL and MTC guidelines.
5. Prepare center review board packets and center review board minutes.
6. Perform other general clerical duties including but not limited to typing, correspondence, form letters, forms, reports, etc.
7. Proofread, copy and file documents, process incoming and outgoing mail, answer telephone and receive visitors.
8. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
9. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
10. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
11. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
12. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
13. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education & experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience required. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency also required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
