Program Assistant

Next Step Program, Portage, Trumbull, Geauga & Lake Counties

Full Time, 40 hours/week

$17/hour

Schedule: M-F, Evening & Weekends as needed


SUMMARY: This position assists in the efficient functioning of the Next Step Program in Portage, Trumbull, Geauga and Lake counties. 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collects and inputs data to generate reports and improve program processes.
  2. Ensures case files are organized, meet eligibility and documentation requirements, and are compliant with funding requirements, providing follow-up as necessary with Next Step staff to correct identified deficiencies or errors. 
  3. Coordinates and monitors staff training (i.e. CPR/First Aid)
  4. Travels to all program sites to review staff and operational needs; reporting to Program Director for follow-up and support. 
  5. Inputs program data in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database, coordinating with program staff to ensure HMIS data is accurate and up-to-date. 
  6. Ensures consistent service delivery across the Next Step service area. 
  7. Actively participates in regular team meetings for the purpose of program consistency, monitoring, effectiveness, planning and goal achievement. 
  8. Represents Axess Family Services in a professional manner at health fairs, educational fairs, fundraisers, outreach efforts and partner agency committee meetings. 
  9. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification registry requirements. 
  10. Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Demonstrates a high level of organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  2. Excellent computer skills, including experience working with Microsoft Office, email and online databases. 
  3. Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable; reliable transportation.
  4. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Office administration and project implementation preferred.
