Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Services existing life & health accounts.  Provides support for producers to facilitate the growth of new business and to retain existing clients.  Directs sales of individual life & health products.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Provides daily customer service to existing customers, documenting all conversations into the agency management system.
  • Discusses insurance needs with customers and advises customers on proper products to meet their particular needs. Reviews existing accounts and suggests additional coverage’s. 
  • Obtains quotes for prospects.
  • Negotiates terms and premiums with underwriters and has the authority to bind coverage on behalf of underwriters of various insurance agencies.
  • Services existing clients with day to day needs necessary for their insurance program.
  • Must maintain a license in good standing as required with the IN Department of Insurance.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the position.
  • Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position. 
  • Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience preferred.
  • Previous risk management and customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of agency management and carrier rating systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve sales goals.
  • Attention to detail.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.   

LICENSES
Indiana Life & Health license required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel to off-site locations for meetings, projects, seminars, etc., as well as ability to travel overnight.
