Packaging Associate: Lena, Illinois
Our customer in Lena, Illinois is a premier food production company seeking hard-working individuals to join their packaging department. As a Packaging Associate, you will be responsible for general packaging, stacking, lifting, and restocking of material into equipment.
Responsibilities of the Packaging Associate:
  • Perform basic operations of assigned packaging equipment machine(s).
  • Assist in changing over materials for the line, safely and efficiently to reduce downtime.
  • Complete repetitive tasks usually involving one product line.
  • Maintain the workflow with a team of 3 or more people.
  • Stack products on pallets in a specific pattern.
  • Assemble boxes for hand packing products.
  • Operate metal detection and x-ray equipment as needed.
  • Monitor production to ensure continuous flow, watching for inconsistencies, and preventing issues.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Follow and contribute to the continuous improvement process.
Packaging Associate Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Ability to push/pull 50lbs frequently and lift 20-40lbs.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be able to work in hot conditions (95-120 degrees).
  • Work hours assigned and overtime as needed.
  • Be responsible for sanitary and safety codes.
  • Alternate between various jobs within the department.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing and/or packaging preferred.
