Description
As an Electrical Field Service Testing Technician, you will perform commissioning, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of medium- to high-voltage electrical power systems supporting commercial, industrial, and utility customers. This role involves hands-on testing of protective relays, switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, controls, and other electrical distribution equipment ranging from 480V to 345kV.
You will work directly with customers at project sites, interpret electrical drawings and relay logic, diagnose electrical and control-system issues, and prepare detailed testing documentation. This position requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, a commitment to electrical safety, and the flexibility to travel approximately 50%.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
  • 1-3+ years of field service experience in electrical testing or commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Circuit breakers
    • Protective relays
    • Transformers
    • Electrical control systems
    • Switchgear
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
  • Ability to read and interpret:
