About Our Family
Based in Phoenix, we're a warm, social, and easygoing family of four-two working parents, one sweet, medium-sized older dog, and two spirited, independent school-age kids (ages 5 and 7) who make our home feel lively and bright. Life here moves at a quick pace. Between one parent's exciting career transition, the other parent's demanding work and travel schedule, the kids' varying school pickup times and extracurricular activities, and a steady stream of neighbors popping by, there's always something going on.
Our early-rising household has a relaxed, open-door energy, and we love spending time with friends, staying active, celebrating birthdays and holidays in a fun way, and encouraging our children to explore their interests, including art, cooking, and gardening. But we also deeply value having a calm, organized home to recharge in and the space to truly exhale and connect with each other as partners and as a family. Right now, the gap between the two is where we're seeking support, which is especially noticeable during the after-school stretch, when both parents are juggling wrapping up their workdays, school pickups, prepping dinner, unloading backpacks, and tackling laundry, dishes, and homework support.
While we have biweekly cleaners, with our bustling schedules, demanding careers, and active social life, we're looking for a proactive, self-directed house manager who brings calm, creativity, and initiative to our home so we can focus more on being fully present with each other as a family and as partners, and continuing to grow a new business venture.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You're warm, proactive, and intuitive - you walk into a home, immediately see what needs to be done and what systems could be created and streamlined, and take action with minimal oversight. You have high emotional intelligence and can easily read the room-you can hold a friendly conversation, and you're comfortable in a highly social, lively house, but you're also equally comfortable in quiet moments and know when it's time to support the family's ability to recharge peacefully or focus on finishing up the workday undisturbed.
You have a mellow energy, are patient with school-age children (ages 5-7), have experience caring for them, and are highly creative-you love setting up art projects, putting up fun holiday decorations, supporting birthday party prep, and encouraging children to explore their interests. You bring a gentle yet firm structure to your childcare-you know how to set appropriate boundaries, help foster their independence, and encourage age-appropriate responsibilities. You're also a fan of dogs and are comfortable supporting daily walks.
Our ideal fit is someone who can support organizational projects (spices, pantry, kids' art projects), laundry, meal planning/prep, pet care, light child care, and implementing systems that keep the home running smoothly. You also have excellent time management skills, take ownership of your responsibilities, communicate clearly and proactively with parents, and you know how to read a family's rhythms. You're comfortable wearing multiple hats in the same afternoon - going from school pickup to dinner prep to a quick household reset - and you genuinely enjoy being part of and supporting a family's busy day-to-day life.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support & Child Assistance
  • Afternoon school pickups; both children attend the same school.
  • Back-up and occasional date-night childcare.
  • After-school supervision, including online learning and homework support.
  • Unpack backpacks and lunch boxes, manage/organize artwork and school papers.
  • Support during parent travel, coordinating with family members who are providing childcare.
Meal Planning & Prep
  • Plan and prepare approximately 3-4 family meals per week, a mix of fresh cooking, batch prep, and slow cooker meals.
  • Follow dietary considerations: one family member eats gluten-free and high-protein; the family prefers organic options.
  • Grocery shopping-online and in-person.
  • Kitchen clean-up and ongoing organization and maintenance.
Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Create and maintain household organization systems throughout the home.
  • Daily resets and prep the home before biweekly cleaners arrive.
  • Light tidying: dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, fridge and pantry organization.
  • Indoor plant care.
  • Seasonal swaps for clothing, dรฉcor, and bedding; holiday decoration support including sourcing decorations as needed.
  • Coordinate and prepare for events, holidays, guests, and birthdays.
  • Packing and unpacking for travel.
  • Proactive home upkeep: replacing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector checks.
Laundry & Linens
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry for the full household.
  • Ironing and steaming, with attention to garment care (wrinkle-free finishes especially valued).
  • Linen rotation for towels and bedding on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-stocked laundry area.
Inventory & Errands
  • Restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies.
  • Manage running supply lists and household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target).
  • Handle returns, gift shopping (birthday parties and kid-related gifts), mail, and package management.
  • Break down boxes and manage recycling.
  • Donation drop-offs as needed.
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Occasional deep cleans as schedule allows: fridge, oven, baseboards.
  • Refresh garage, entryway, and mudroom areas.
  • Organizational projects: kids' playroom, artwork systems, children's clothing, pantry, spice organization, and more.
Pet Care
  • One daily walk for the family dog.
  • Maintain prescription food supply.
  • Schedule grooming appointments (approximately every 6 weeks) and vet visits (2x per year).
Vehicle Upkeep
  • Schedule routine maintenance for the family vehicle.
  • Fueling, cleaning, and organizing the family vehicle as needed.
Vendor & Property Oversight
  • Research and coordinate vendor quotes and repairs (window washing, power washing, etc.).
  • Manage outdoor spaces: water patio pots and coordinate seasonal patio maintenance.
Administrative Support
  • Household calendar management.
  • Event and appointment coordination, including kids' birthday celebrations.
  • Travel logistics support as needed.
