Job description

At The Cottonwood, we’re more than just a boutique hotel — we’re a proud team of passionate people who care deeply about what we do, how we do it, and the impact we make in our community. Located in Omaha's vibrant Blackstone District, where history continues to come to life, our hotel stands as a modern icon with a deep-rooted legacy. Once the historic Blackstone Hotel, The Cottonwood has become a local gem, blending timeless elegance with contemporary style. Known for its stylish charm, state-of-the-art amenities, and a level of service that continually raises the bar in the hospitality industry, our hotel stands as a tribute to the past, refreshed for a new era.

Joining our team means stepping into an environment where creativity is celebrated, ideas are welcomed, and every role plays a key part in creating unforgettable guest experiences. Whether you’re welcoming guests at the front desk, crafting cocktails in our bar, or supporting behind the scenes, your work matters — and it’s appreciated. We’re proud of who we are: a team that works hard, supports one another, and genuinely loves what we do. We believe hospitality should feel personal, and that starts with how we treat each other. Here, you’ll find a collaborative, uplifting culture where you’re encouraged to grow, shine, and make a difference.

If you’re looking for more than just a job — if you want to be part of a place that feels like home, where your talents are valued, and your passion has a purpose — then we’d love to meet you. Come join us at The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel and be part of a team that’s redefining hospitality in Omaha — one guest, one moment, and one great team member at a time.”

Some people see a guest room.

You see perfectly folded corners, sparkling fixtures, flawless finishes, and the details no one else notices—but every guest remembers.

At the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, we believe unforgettable guest experiences begin long before check-in. They start with the moment a guest opens the door to a room that feels absolutely pristine. If you're the kind of leader who notices the one fingerprint on a mirror, straightens artwork without thinking twice, and believes "clean" should always mean spotless, this might be your next great opportunity.

We're looking for an Executive Housekeeper who refuses to settle for "good enough." Someone who inspires a team, raises the bar every day, and takes pride in creating one of the cleanest, most welcoming hotels in the Midwest.

Your Impact

You'll lead an incredible housekeeping team responsible for:

  • 205 beautifully appointed guest rooms
  • Nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space
  • Public areas, back-of-house spaces, and every detail in between

Your mission? Make every space feel as though the very first guest is about to walk through the door.

What You'll Do

As Executive Housekeeper, you'll set the standard—not just for cleanliness, but for leadership.

You'll:

  • Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing housekeeping team that takes pride in being the best.
  • Create a culture where attention to detail isn't encouraged—it's expected.
  • Ensure every guest room and public space consistently exceeds Kimpton standards.
  • Conduct inspections with a sharp eye and an even higher standard.
  • Develop efficient processes that improve quality while supporting your team's success.
  • Manage labor, budgets, inventory, and supplies with confidence and accountability.
  • Partner with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Sales to deliver seamless guest experiences.
  • Champion safety, cleanliness, and organization throughout the hotel.
  • Celebrate wins, develop future leaders, and make your team excited to come to work every day.
Who You Are

You don't walk past something that isn't right.

You fix it.

You're energized by leading people, coaching talent, and creating a culture of accountability, positivity, and excellence. You know that great housekeeping isn't just about clean rooms—it's about creating moments where guests instantly feel comfortable, cared for, and impressed.

You're someone who:

  • Has exceptional housekeeping leadership experience in a hotel environment.
  • Leads with confidence, humility, and integrity.
  • Has an almost legendary attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, luxury or lifestyle hospitality setting.
  • Loves developing people and building strong, engaged teams.
  • Takes ownership and leads by example.
  • Believes excellence is a habit—not an occasional achievement.
Why Kimpton Cottonwood?

The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel isn't just another hotel—it's one of Omaha's most iconic destinations. We blend timeless elegance with modern hospitality, creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through our doors.

Behind every exceptional stay is an exceptional team.

And behind every exceptional housekeeping team is a leader who inspires excellence every single day.

If you're ready to lead one of the most important departments in the hotel, build an incredible team, and create spotless spaces that guests rave about, we want to meet you.

Bring your passion. Bring your standards. Bring your eye for perfection.

Join the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel and help us set the standard for hospitality—one perfectly prepared room at a time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of housekeeping management experience, preferably in a hotel or resort setting
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry operations
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel management software
  • Knowledge of inventories, scheduling, and productivity.
