1st Grade Elementary Teacher
Location: Global Tech
FLSA Status: Exempt | Full-Time
Reports To: Academy Principal

ABOUT GEE
Global Educational Excellence (GEE) operates a network of charter schools across Southeast Michigan focused on academic achievement and community. Our staff benefit from structured mentorship, weekly professional development, and a collaborative school culture.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Elementary Teacher delivers engaging, data-driven instruction in a K-5 classroom setting, manages classroom culture, and supports the whole-child development of each student.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate elementary endorsement, or eligibility for certification through the Michigan State Board of Education
  • Candidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. CAP eligibility is determined at the time of application.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and deliver standards-aligned instruction that produces measurable student growth
  • Build positive, achievement-focused relationships with students
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to adjust instruction and meet individual student needs
  • Implement a tiered system of support within the classroom
  • Coordinate instruction within and across grade levels
  • Communicate regularly with parents, coaches, and administrators regarding student progress
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and collaborative planning sessions
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes elevated noise levels.
