Our holistic, patient-focused experience begins with understanding our patients desires, empowering them with trusted information, and ends with extraordinary results that illuminate ones best self from the inside out.Position SummaryThe RNFA/CSTFA works closely, hands-on, with the surgeon to aid in the process of prepping/draping patients for surgery, suturing, hemostasis, clamping, and provides surgical site exposureThey will assist in positioning patients to ensure a safe operation, applying dressings and garments, transport to the PACU, and room turnoverEssential Duties/FunctionsProvides hemostasis, suturing, and wound management Works in collaboration with the surgeon and other healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes Assist in the development of treatment plans in conjunction with lead surgeon(s) Assist surgeon(s) during the surgery including passing requested instruments, sutures, equipment, and retractionAssist with room turnover by helping to clean the operating room post-operation and set up for the next procedureAccount for all tools, instruments, and sharps during the procedure Help with center opening/closing duties if requiredHelp with preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments, equipment, and operating rooms if requiredPlacement of pneumatic tourniquet, urinary catheter placement, placement/suturing of surgical drainsClosure of all wound layers (fascia, subcutaneous, and skin)Assist with taking standardized photos if requiredEnsures adequate inventory of controlled drugs, supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available to meet patient needsMixing liposuction tumescent bagsAssist with unpackaging and restocking inventoryCheck sharps boxes and change any that are full, empty all linen/biohazard bags, logs, wheeling patientsStart and remove IVs if neededLaunch in Prean and discharge from PACU when needed if properly trainedComplete all mandatory trainingFollow all state, federal and/or local health and safety rules, laws, and regulations*Additional job duties as assigned.EducationCurrent Michigan RN license, BSN preferredRegistered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) and/or Certified Surgical Tech First Assist (CSTFA)Must currently be RNFA certified or obtain your RNFA certification within 1 year of employment, CNOR preferredPast experience as a surgeon from another country is a plusMust currently be BLS and ACLS certified or obtain your certifications within 30 days of employment (reimbursement is available)ExperienceMinimum three (3) years of ambulatory surgery clinical experience as a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) or Certified Surgical Tech First Assist (CSTFA)Interpersonal Skills and AttributesBilingual English and Spanish is a plusAbility to maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient health informationAbility to focus on patient safety, teamwork, patient outcomes, patient experience and quality improvementAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingStrong communication skills: written and verbal and interpersonalMicrosoft Office experienceRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervisionFlexible, reliable, patient-oriented, and self-motivatedMust be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actionProfessional behavior/appearance requiredAbility to focus on patient safety, teamwork, patient outcomes, patient experience and quality improvementAbility to work within a team setting in accordance with our overall mission and goalAble to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructionsPhysical/Sensory RequirementsAbility to be active and on your feet throughout the dayAbility to lift up to 50 pounds (to help assist with patients)Corrected hearing and vision to normal rangeFull range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordinationBenefitsHealth InsuranceVision InsuranceDental Insurance401k and Matching ProgramHealth Savings AccountPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysEmployee Incentive Program for Complimentary Plastic Surgery Procedures, Botox, and Fillers Additional Information: $80,000 - $120,000
