Personal Banker/Universal Banker
In this role, you will create and deliver an exceptional client experience while building and strengthening customer relationships. You will serve as a trusted financial partner by actively listening to clients' needs, identifying opportunities, and recommending appropriate banking products, services, and financial solutions. Success in this role requires a positive attitude, strong relationship-building skills, a consultative sales approach, and a commitment to helping clients achieve their financial goals.
You will adapt to changing business needs, resolve client concerns professionally, protect confidential customer information, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and ensure all banking activities are completed accurately and in compliance with Bank policies and procedures. While this position is primarily focused on personal banking and relationship management activities, occasional support may be provided to branch operations, including transactional services, as business needs require.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Retail Banking Representative, Universal Banker/Teller, Relationship Banker, Associate Banking Consultant, Senior Teller, Community Banker or Credit Union Member Services Representative.
In This Role You Will
Client Relationship Management
  • Build, retain, and deepen client relationships through proactive outreach and meaningful financial conversations
  • Conduct financial needs assessments and recommend appropriate banking products and services
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience focused on financial well-being, relationship growth, and client loyalty
  • Develop trust-based relationships that increase client engagement and share of wallet

New Business Development and Sales
  • Open, maintain, and service consumer deposit accounts, including checking, savings, money market, and certificate of deposit products
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and refer clients for consumer loans, mortgage lending, business banking, wealth management, and other financial solutions
  • Meet individual and branch goals related to client acquisition, referrals, product penetration, and relationship growth
  • Generate qualified referrals through consultative, needs-based sales conversations

Client Education and Digital Banking
  • Educate clients on online banking, mobile banking, digital payment solutions, and self-service banking tools
  • Assist clients in selecting digital solutions that improve convenience and enhance their banking experience
  • Promote available banking technology, products, and resources to support client financial success

Operational Excellence and Compliance
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of banking products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure all activities comply with bank policies, regulatory requirements, risk controls, and security standards
  • Protect client information while maintaining accurate documentation and transaction processing

Branch Support
  • Collaborate with branch team members to support overall branch performance and client satisfaction
  • Provide occasional teller and operational support at assigned or nearby branches as business needs require, including vacations, staffing shortages, and peak service periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Competencies and Skills
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience
  • Minimum one year of banking, retail banking, financial services, sales, customer service, or relationship management experience preferred
  • Previous Personal Banker, Relationship Banker, Universal Banker, Branch Banker, or Retail Banking experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in client acquisition, referrals, cross-selling, and relationship building preferred
