Job Summary
As the site Filed Safety Coordinator you will manage field personnel to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, programs, procedures and legislative standards. You will communicate and contribute to the development of site-based programs, conduct onsite EHS audits and inspections, and provide recommendations for improving EHS performance and creating a NO HARM culture. Furthermore, you will ensure all personnel and employees are informed of safe working procedures and practices so that they can fulfil their responsibilities and manage required compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Drive safety policies and procedures.
  • Support safety training and education to employees.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes.
  • Support Audits incident investigations, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of Near Miss and incidents to ensure safe work procedures are being followed in respect to Company policy, OHSA, EPA, DOT, and client/ company policy as well as applicable regulatory state and federal laws within specified area where work is being performed.
  • Create and maintain safety documentation and reports.
  • Work with management to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and training.
  • Stay updated with industry safety trends and regulations
  • Advise on the selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Review customers permit systems, including requirements for site posting of permits, LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space procedures, and Bird electric lift plans.
  • Assist case management/follow up & coordination of injured employee.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various assignments.
  • Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by assignment.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Safety and health certification, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 3+ years in a construction environment preferred
