Job description

Job Summary

The PSC Design & Execution Engineer will play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable PLC control and SCADA systems for complex engineering projects in a global organization. The role involves designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining automation and control systems that meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality guidelines.

As a pivotal member of the product development department, the Execution Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams-including software developers, electrical engineers, and global project managers-to ensure seamless integration of control and SCADA systems within larger industrial solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage projects from concept through commissioning in industries such as manufacturing, energy, transportation, and process engineering.

This position requires full-time onsite presence at the Pelzer, SC location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System Design and Integration: Develop solutions for PSC and software development and delivery
  • Advisement on PLC control sequence flow charts against Description of Operation documentation.
  • Advisement of IO tag and network device databases.
  • Review and create electrical diagrams and technical submittals.
  • Advisement on SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, including network topologies.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside multidisciplinary teams-including software developers, electrical engineers, and project managers aligning with application-level software and user requirements.
  • Optimization: Continuously improve system performance by analyzing data and updating BAS or PLC/SCADA configurations to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation of BAS or PLC/SCADA configurations, logic diagrams, and system updates while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Training and Support: Provide technical support and training to internal teams on electrical schematics, project design, BAS or SCADA/PLC system operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Software Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block.
  • Experience with SCADA or BAS platforms (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, Triudium or GE iFIX, EcoStructure).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA, DCIM, BACNET).
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver projects in an engineering or industrial automation environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be proficient in UL508A requirements
  • Must be proficient in all ANSI standards and familiarization with IEC standards.
  • Must have a working knowledge of MV/LV switchgear and associated equipment (UPS, ATS, etc.)

  • Work Location: This role requires on-site presence in the office when not traveling. Remote work is not permitted for this position.
