Position Location
This position is located onsite at Ft.Meade, Maryland.
Job Overview
Under direction of the Senior Construction Supervisor and/or Facility Supervisor, the Painter will provide daily maintenance operation and activities for all assigned facilities/areas including new construction/renovations.
The incumbent receives and evaluates work orders and requests, investigates request or problems where appropriate, and establishes priorities. The incumbent must professionally interact with contractors, vendors, employees and our customer to maintain effective working relationships to meet department objectives.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
  • Perform and complete the full variety of painting related tasks.
  • Maintain, paint, and redecorate walls, woodwork and fixtures.
  • Understand and utilize knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paints required for different applications.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting. This may include removing old finish or placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices.
  • Apply paint with spray gun, or brush, or roller.
  • Mix colors, oils, and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Two (2) years' experience as a commercial or residential painter.
  • General knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with applicable environmental codes and standards.
  • Well rounded training and experience related to the painting functions that has been acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experienc
  • Ability to work at varying at heights (i.e., ladder, roof tops, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Mature judgment and the ability to perform assigned work tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.

Preferred:
Five (5) years of experience as a commercial or residential painter.
