Job description

Hours/Day:  8 hours (5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
Days/Year:  Pro-rated on 260 days/year
Closing Date:  Candidates will be reviewed upon submission with selection starting no sooner than five days following the posting. Position will remain open until a suitable candidate has been found. 
Anticipated Start Date: August 1, 2026

License Required:  Minnesota State Chief C Boiler License preferred- may consider 1st class C with intent to upgrade
Salary:  Per Custodial Agreement  $33.12 - $34.10 per hour plus benefits
Essential Functions:
Conducts maintenance checks and services on various parts of school boilers, water pumps, air compressors, steam converters, water heaters, refrigerator/freezer pumps, air handling systems and all other HVAC systems.
Maintains and repairs basic electrical and plumbing systems and equipment.
Coordinates activities with custodial, building and grounds and general building staff to ensure efficient operation of all systems.

Maintains an inventory of work supplies and equipment.
Trains, assigns, oversees and inspects the work of custodial staff.
Confirms that all building automation systems are operational to maximum efficiency.
Performs the essential functions of a custodian.
Performs and inspects all building life safety systems and repairs or requests outside services as needed.
Monitors hours worked by building custodial staff.
Conducts snow removal activities, shoveling and snow blowing.
Assists with setting up and taking down of furniture, equipment and materials for special events.
Create a positive relationship with the internal and external customer and ensure the interaction the customer has with the district is an efficient and satisfying experience.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and considerable experience working with boilers and building maintenance with increasing responsibilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Associates/Technical degree preferred.
Special Requirements:
Chief C Boiler's Operator License or higher preferred. 1st class considered
Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Unlicensed Electricians License
