Description

Title: Childcare Staff

Team: NextGen

Department: Kids

Reports to: Childcare Coordinator

Supervises: None

Classification: On-call, contracted

Work Schedule: Varies based on event needs

Location: On-site, JYP Campus



This position is responsible for assisting the KIDS team by providing excellent care for children birth-5th grade during special events and weekly ministry gatherings. 


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers for meaningful service in First Orlando's Kids Ministry
  • Provide high-quality care for children 
  • Create an atmosphere full of fun and relationship
  • Create opportunities to encourage children to follow Jesus 
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed in your area
  • Know, understand, and follow First Orlando SAFE guidelines at all times
  • Ensure room setup is complete prior to accepting children
  • Take steps to clean and put away items at the close of childcare
  • Attend trainings as needed and/or required by the ministry
  • Support all First Orlando NextGen global initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned and needed based on event

Education and Experience

  • High School Degree
  • Prior experience with childcare in a school, daycare or church setting

Physical Requirements


The work is performed mostly in an indoor environment but may require being outside in the

heat/weather during special events. While performing the duties of this job, the employee might

be required to sit for long periods of time, walk, stand and squat; talk or hear both in person

and by telephone; reach with hands and arms; and lift both children and objects weighing up

to 25 lbs.
