Job Description:

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.
Principle Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical care for patients
    • Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
    • Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
    • Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
    • Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
    • Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
    • Refers for specialty care when determined.
    • Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant working in a Colorectal Surgery or Gastroenterology setting


Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire
  • Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire
  • Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire

Pay Range

Pay Range: $58.75 to $81.29 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
